MUSEUM DESCRIPTION:
As a museum of art and history the Rijksmuseum aims to provide a domestic and international public with a representative survey of Dutch art and history since the Middle Ages as well as key aspects of European and Asiatic art.
To this end, the Rijksmuseum maintains, manages, conserves, restores, researches and publishes, collects, presents and makes objects accessible as well as organising exhibitions.
More than a million people come to the Rijksmuseum each year from around the world: young and old, alone or in groups. During the renovation the amount of visitors that visit Rijksmuseum, The Masterpieces, is alsmost one million people). To attune the museum's product as closely as possible to the demands of the public, the Rijksmuseum collects information about its visitors.
