The Pierre Hotel sold a $12-million luxury co-op apartment, the New York Times reports. City records indicate that the sale of the co-op was reported to be the most expensive sale recorded last week.
The transaction stemmed from the estate sale of Mary R. Cowell Ross, whom was 102 years old when she died last February.
The classically luxury high-rise hotel, which underwent a $100-miilion makeover in 2005, looks over Central Park, is a landmark building that has been a renowned hotel of the borough of Manhattan since 1930.
Mary Ross, a pioneer among female lawyers, was the 14th president of the New York Women’s Bar Association.
