An Apple 1 computer, which is among the first made by Apple in 1976, sold for $387,750 at an online-only auction held by Christie’s this week, the Wall Steet Journal reports.
The auction house did not identify the buyer of the Apple 1 unit, which was built by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, but did state that the previous owner was retired school psychologist from Sacramento, California.
This marks the third six-figure sale of an Apple 1 computer within the past year. Another one of Apple’s first computers made in 1976 sold for $668,000 at an auction in Germany in late May. It was the highest price ever paid for an Apple 1.
