The story stresses that it is vital for managers to enforce the company dress code to keep morale intact. Allowing a worker to break the dress code could either result in other employees breaking the rules, too, or the other employees may express disdain toward the violator.
It is recommended that managers facing such a dilemma seek advice from human resources department on how to handle the matter.

"If one employee gets away with ignoring the dress code, others will soon follow, or they will resent the employee for breaking the rules and getting away with it.
