Just say T206 around a group of sports memorabilia collectors and a room would likely go silent.
This is one of the 57 1909 T206 Honus Wagner baseball cards known to exist. It is hailed by many as the Holy Grail of sports collectibles is available to the highest bidder at an online-only auction that will accept bids till Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. Central time, Yahoo Sports reports.
Known as the Cobb card, this particular card was purchased between 1983 and 1984 for $1,800 by Jphn Cobb, an entrepreneur from Ohio.
Proving the authenticity of this card has prompted numerous testing over the years. Martin Brouillard, a senior grader of Autographs and Cards Authentication authenticated the card earlier this year.

….The card was created when the American Tobacco Company began designing and issuing baseball cards in 1909 for a T206 series that featured more than 500 major league baseball players. Wagner was featured in the series without his consent, and refused to allow production of the card to continue due to moral objections. As a result, only 57 copies of the T206 Honus Wagner baseball card are known to exist.
