A photographic essay of actors that were never nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for an Oscar reveals a few surprises in this report from ABC News. 

Steve Buscemi, Hugh Jackman, Jin Carrey and Hugh Jackman were never nominated for the coveted award. Meg Ryan, Claire Danes, and Jamie Lee Curtis also never got the nod from the Academy. 

While many factors do go into the voting, such as they seem to not like comedy- or action-genre films too much. It is somewhat surprising how many of these actors received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, but no Oscar.
