Affluent Travelers Want Service and High Level of Personalization on Trips

Ultra-luxury traveling is about the service, the personalization, and originality of the experience, according to the Travel Leaders Group, reports Reuters. World travelers are thinking small to get the biggest return on their vacation dollars.

A top exec at Travel Leaders Group told Reuters that people want “small ships, lodges, camps, and interaction led by guides who can help facilitate wildlife, cultural or people-to-people connections” to make their deluxe traveling experience an extraordinary event.

It's not just the super rich who can enjoy such exclusivity. "A key development in the luxury market is that [while] fewer people can afford to pay the extra for all-out luxury, more people want to experience it," says Lorna Walker, who thinks organizations need to find ways to offer a taste of luxury to a less affluent segment [while] being careful not to alienate their traditional market or cannibalize their full service offering.
