Apparently, there is no business like shoe business!
Beyonce is slipping into the shoe business with her custom-made line of sneakers: King Bey. The fanciful high-top sneakers, which are made from ostrich, crocodile, anaconda, and stingray skins, have prompted protests by PETA. The shoes will be made by the custom-footwear brand, PMK Customs
Designer Isabel Marant designed the heeled-sneakers with Velcro straps that will retail at $5,500 a pair. This is not Beyonce’s first encounter with PETA. The diva also angered the group with the leather outfit she wore at her performance during the half-time show of the Super Bowl.
“[The sneakers] come with a high price,” PETA said in a statement. “And it’s paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed.”
