Is something fishy going on here?
Mr. Kiyoshi Kimura, the owner of Sushi-Zanmai, is hooked on big catches. The owner of the sushi restaurant chain, in Tokyo, paid $1.8 million for ahuge bluefin tuna at a Tokyo fish market auction.
The purchase is hissecond foray into investing in fish of extraordinary dimensions. Last year, Kimura purchased his first “big tuna,” picking up anotherbluefin tuna that weighed more than 593 pounds for $736,000.
Winning buyer Kiyoshi Kimura – head of Kiyomura Co., owner of Tokyo restaurant chain Sushi-Zanmai – dubbed the price "a bit high," Kyodo News agency reported. He did not specify the price the tuna would sell for in his restaurants.
