The proposed design of one of the new Qatar soccer stadiums being built for the 2022 World Cup Games has become an issue due to its shape being compared to a woman’s private parts. The first rendering of the architectural firm is said to be reminiscent of a woman’s vagina, The Independent reports.
The design is supposed to resemble the sails of a dhow boat, which is used for pearl fishing in the area. There is no word on whether the design will be altered or remain as-is.
….Aecom, the firm that won the Al Wakrah contract along with Zaha Hadid Architects said: “Inspired by the dhow boat that carried generations of local fishermen and pearl divers, the stadium weaves together Qatar's past with its progressive vision for the future.
