Elle magazine will soon have an edition in Australia again, according to Valeria Llopiz, the publication’s international editorial director, reports The Australian.
The high-fashion magazine, which discontinued its Australian edition in 2002, will also launch a website to support it. Ms. Llopiz indicated that the launch of the complementing website may precede the new edition. The Australian Elle’s content will be centric to Australia, as 80 percent will be focused on fashion news in the country and only 20 percent coming from international editions.
Elle magazine, which was founded in 1945, currently has 43 international editions. Ms. Llopiz is actively seeking an editor for Elle Australia.
The effortlessly chic Llopiz is in Australia this week to meet with Elle's local publishing partner, Bauer, and to interview prospective editors. "We're looking for someone well experienced at the high end of the market, but with an understanding of fashion," Llopiz says.
