The first e-book library will open this fall. The digital library, BiblioTech, will open in Bexar County in San Antonio, Texas. The 4,989-square-footfacility will be equipped with 100 e-readers available for onsite and take-out usage as well as e-readers for children, computer stations, laptops and tablets on site.
Judge Nelson Wolff told ABC News that he was inspired to pursue the project after reading Walter Issacson’s biography of Steve Jobs.
We all know the world is changing. I am an avid book reader. I read hardcover books; I have a collection of 1,000 first editions. Books are important to me," Wolff told ABC News. "But the world is changing and this is the best, most effective way to bring services to our community."
