J. Crew will retire the belt that Michele Obama wore around her coat, as well as the plum-color overcoat worn by her daughter, Malia, at the inauguration.
The announcement was made in an interview with Jenna Lyons, the creative director of J. Crew, on NBC’s Today Show. There also is an interivew by Jason Wu, who designed Mrs. Obama's gowns for both of the inaugural affairs, incuded.
"The lady day coat that Malia was wearing has been in our line for years, and we’ll continue that, but we’ll retire the color,” said J.Crew’s creative director, Jenna Lyons. “We won’t do the color again, just out of respect for the first family.”
