Whole lotta cash!

While there has been speculation that the Gangnam Style You Tube video generated around $8 million in advertising, the figure has been verified. Google confirmed that the most watched video in You Tube history actually fired up more than $8 million in advertising deals, reports Digital Life of the Today Show.

And there is no end in sight for the viewing life of the first You Tube video to be viewed more than a billion times. Singer Psy is tiring from the song and intimates that it will not be heard as much in 2013.

YouTube trends manager Kevin Allocca praised the video's popularity in a post on the official You Tube blog, pointing out that it has been viewed in "close to 75 countries, making it one of the most global music sensations ever." Additionally, as of late December, fan tributes to the video were being viewed 20 million times every single day.
