Kudos to Dan Akerson, chief exec at GM, for paring with his own classic, 1958 Chevrolet Corvette hardtop/convertible for charity.
The car will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction next January. Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity to assist in its rehabbing of a neighborhood in need near GM’s headquarters in downtown Detroit. It is expected to sell for more than $118,000.
His car is among the rarest of the Corvettes with only 419 made, and less than that in this color combination. It’s powered by a 245 hp V8, has a four-speed manual transmission, and now it can be yours, for a good cause.
