The multifaceted high-tech company is investing in a new healthcare company that is focused on slowing the aging process and extending life for humans, InformationWeek reported recently.
Goggle CEO Larry Page offered no concrete vision on how the medical-science company would achieve this objective, during the announcement Page made on Google Plus last Wednesday. The organization will not be looking to cure any specific diseases,
Arthur Levinson, a former board member of Google, is the CEO and chairman of Calico. Levinson also is the former chairman and the current CEO of Genentech, a biotech company.
"While this is clearly a longer-term bet, we believe we can make good progress within reasonable timescales with the right goals and the right people," Page said.
