PayPal believes that Google has stolen their trade secrets and they are suing the media giant. With the release of the new Google Wallet, Paypal has come out with the accusation that they have been working in conjunction with former Paypal turned Google employees, Osama Bedier and Stephanie Tilenius, to "build a competing product with PayPal's former employees and executives at the helm."
Two years of negotiations revolved around PayPal being the main payment method for Google’s app store on Android phones halted with the release of the new Wallet. Osama Bedier was in charge of the negotiations between the two companies, when he worked with PayPal on new product development of mobile technologies.
Google is fighting the lawsuit and the claim that Bedier was in breach of his executive responsibilities. They released a statement claiming, "Silicon Valley was built on the ability of individuals to use their knowledge and expertise to seek better employment opportunities, an idea recognized by both California law and public policy. We respect trade secrets, and will defend ourselves against these claims."
