The gun brandished by actor Harrison Ford, while playing the role of Hans Solo, in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, from George Lucas’ Star Wars film franchise, is for sale via auction through December 21.
The “DL-44 Blaster” is currently a featured item in the Hollywood Auction by auctioneer Profiles in History. Bids are being accepted online for this highly valued piece of movie memorabilia, which is expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000. The starting bid is $200,000.
The prop gun is one of two used in the films, as there was a heavy and a lightweight version of the blaster. The lightweight, non-firing gun is for sale.
….This non-firing blaster was created for The Empire Strikes Back and was also used in Return of the Jedi. It would have been used in the majority of scenes that feature Han, with the heavier, live-fire weapon being used for close-up shots.
