There are open houses … and then there are open houses that ooze with genius-level creativity, panache and savoir-faire. Last week, an article in the Wall Street Journal talked about sellers making videos to market their homes. This one is better.
It is quite the taste treat as well with Monica Pope, a celebrity chef and restaurateur in the Houston area. Ms. Pope was nominated for a James Beard award in 2007 and named the 2009 Houston Chef of the Year.
The chef had been dabbling with cooking for patrons in their residences and started a promo called Sunday Suppers with the Pope. The creative chef thought a similar concept would help with the marketing of house for sale.
She pitched her idea to a local real estate firm, John Daugherty Realtors, and the two have combined forces to whip what just may be the most delicious open houses in the state of Texas. Here is how it works….
….Now there is "Sunday Suppers with the Pope" at prime properties offered for sale by the real estate company. It works like this: Guests, who pay $75 each, receive an email a day or two before the dinner, telling them where it will be. (Because the Houston housing market is so hot right now, a property is selected at the last minute before it has been sold.)
