The fastest growing cities for luxury travel are London, Dubai, and Paris, according to the delegates of the Luxury Hospitality 2013, which was held in Lausanne, Switzerland, earlier this month, the Conference & Incentive Travel publication reports. The event was billed as the first think tank involving insiders and pundits of the luxury industry.
New York City was named the top luxury destination, while the U.S., the UK, and China were cited the top three outbound markets. The International Herald Tribune and the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL) were the coordinators of the Luxury Hospitality 2013 summit.
The general consensus of the 170 delegates in attendance was that luxury is exclusive, unattainable to most people, and that luxury marketers need to be digitally savvy to maintain market share.
