While premium real estate on both the California and the Nevada sides of Lake Tahoe have improved over the past couple years, the market for luxury homes in Sacramento also is improving, reports the Sacramento Business Journal.
Sales for homes prices at more than $750,000 increased to 168 units for the third quarter 2013, which is an increase of 72% from the 90 that sold during the same time in 2012.
…. Within cities, Sacramento led all with 41, followed by Granite Bay with 32 and El Dorado Hills with 29. The most expensive home, though, was a 7,800-square-foot, five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Loomis, which sold for $2.5 million.
The report also noted there were 66 sales of above $1 million during the third quarter, nearly triple the number from a year earlier.
