Thieves of luxury –brand automobiles prefer stealing Mercedes-Benz C-Class models most. That is the findings of a report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau, reporting on the three-year period between 2009-12. Four-hundred-and-eighty-five C-Class cars were reported stolen.
Two other MBZ models, the E-Class and the S-Class, also made the top-10 list of luxury cars stolen most often.
Surrounding areas of NYC, Los Angeles, and Miami are the top three in reporting thefts of super-expensive vehicles in that time frame. The insurance group’s study also cites 4,384 thefts reported nationwide.

….The second-most-stolen luxury car was Bayerische Motoren Werke AG’s BMW 3 Series, followed by Nissan Motor Co.’s Infiniti G Series, the NICB said. California had the highest number of luxury thefts of any state at 1,063, followed by Florida with 674. The Los Angeles area had 491 thefts.
