While her husband is focused on trimming costs, the First Lady unveiled some cuts of her own … to her bangs. Michele Obama debuted a new hairstyle on her 49^th birthday. She unveiled a photograph of the hair-do on her new Twitter handle, @FLOTUS.  

It’s too bad that snipping costs in Washington isn’t as simple as trimming hair, because if it were, Mrs. Obama would be a natural for the job. What a cut up! 

As for how Mrs. Obama celebrated her birthday, which comes right before inaugural festivities get under way, the Washington Post reports that President Obama took his wife out to dinner at Georgetown restaurant Cafe Milano.
