Financial guru Dennis Tito is planning to do another space trip.
The millionaire investor who was the first to pay $20 million to visit the International Space Station in 2001 has his sights set on a 501-day trip to Mars, the Clevelander reports.
Tito is calling the project the Mission for America. The Inspiration Mars Foundation, a newly formed non-profit organization founded by Tito, plans to have a news conference next week by to divulge more details on the venture to Mars.
This 'Mission for America' will generate new knowledge, experience and momentum for the next great era of space exploration," the advisory said. "It is intended to encourage all Americans to believe again, in doing the hard things that make our nation great, while inspiring youth through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and motivation."
