Women with breast augmentation surgery are banned from competing as mixed-martial-arts fighters by the MMA, reports the Daily HIIT.
The State Boxing Commission of Louisiana put out an emergency ruling that women with boob jobs must present a note from their plastic surgeon that permits them to participate in an MMA event.
The MMA commissioner, Harold Williams, added his own archaic touch to the situation by reportedly saying,“If women want to look good then they don’t have to be in the ring.”
The hoopla over women with implants fighting began about a month ago when a female fighter withdrew from a fight after experiencing a ruptured breast implant. The real issue is not the health of the fighters, but the amount of money it costs to repair a breast implant. Another politically incorrect member of the commission weighed in.
“Those redo surgeries are more complicated and expensive” said Dr. Thomas Ferguson who also sits on the board. “I don’t know of a single plastic surgeon that is going to allow his artistic work to be messed up.”
