Grace of Monaco, a film by Oliver Dahan that stars Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, has angered the number-one family of the principality, France 24 reports.
It has been called “needlessly glamorized and historically inaccurate” in a statement released from Prince Albert II and his sisters, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie. The film also stars Tim Roth, asPrince Rainier III, along with Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Derek Jacobi, and Paz Vega in supporting roles.
In an interview with French magazine Paris Match, Kidman specified: “This is not a biopic or a fictionalized documentary…. but only a small part of her life where she reveals her great humanity as well as her fears and weaknesses.”
