New NASA Earth at Night Satellite Pics Are 'Out of this World'

NASA’s satellite-photographs taken from the Verner Suoni satellite are a sight to behold. The images are surrealist, adding a sparking perspective of the Third Rock from the Sun never before seen.  See the pictures at this exhibition at the NASA Goddard Flickr page. Blast off for a moment and expand your horizons tenfold. 

 It flies over any given point on Earth's surface twice each day at about 1:30 a.m. and p.m. from a height of 512 miles from the planet's surface. Data is transmitted to scientists in Norway after each orbit "and continuously to local direct broadcast users distributed around the world."
