Oh … the agony of the feet!
Dr. Randal Haworth, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, has developed a foot spray to relieve the pain woman experience when wearing high heels, ABC News reports.
Heel No Pain/Style by Biochemistry supposedly works by numbing the nerves with lidocaine in the feet the transmit the pain. Lidocaine is numbing agent that is used by dentist and doctors.
The directions to apply call for the user to spray their feet and wait 15 minutes for it to kick in. While the marketing copy on the firms Facebook pages states it is “whole new way to stay happy in your heels,” other doctors say that this is a masking agent and not a pain alleviator.
…. It’s not really curing a problem. It’s really just masking the pain,” said Dr. Jaime Hernandez, an orthopedic surgeon at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. “It’s important to listen and receive any signals the body is sending to you.”
