Faster than a speeding bullet, the hoopla surrounding this situation is escalating.
It is being reported from several sources that the New York newspaper that decided to publish the names and addresses of gun owners has hired a security company with armed guards for protection. The Westchester Journal News published the list of registered gun owners on December 22, and has since been inundated by protesters for publishing the list.
The list contains names and addresses of private citizens, which includes policemen, FBI agents, judges and more has set off the New York State Rife & Pistol Association to question the reasoning behind its controversial decision.
“The data posted also includes active and retired police officers, judges, battered and stalked individuals, FBI agents, and more," the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association said in a release that marked the latest escalation.
