The closing date has arrived, and it’s time to say goodbye. The final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” has come, and the “Queen of Daytime” has bid farewell. The world has laughed and cried with Oprah for 25 years with the success of her daytime talk show. Oprah Winfrey’s success saw no boundaries with the start of a reading movement through her book club campaign, shocking giveaway moments, those moments she deemed “aha” moments, and launching the careers of both Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz. Oprah is responsible for shaping a culture. Some have even speculated that the successful election of President Obama is due to Oprah’s stance behind him during his campaign.
Though no host could ever comfortably fill the designer shoes that Oprah is leaving behind, there are famous names in the hat to replace her time slot. Anderson Cooper is currently a candidate to take the slot, and Katie Couric’s name has been floating around. Audiences joined Oprah in saying goodbye on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
