Private-aviation firms are on the rebound and growing in popularity, according to various industry insiders, reports the Bradenton Herald. Various companies that offer private-jet chartering and fleet management services are seeing an increase in overall demand for their services.
Adam Twidell, the founder of PrivateFly, an online booking service for private jets, told CNN that he has seen a yearly threefold growth since he launched his company in 2007. Several companies are reporting growth and expansion of facilities this year to accommodate the greater demand.
Rectrix Aviation, a private jet charter service that built a $20 million facility at SRQ in 2008, also is expanding with its recent acquisition of AirFlyte, a Westfield, Mass., fixed-base operator with maintenance and hangar facilities.
