According to Space.com, this could be the year that the private space travel lifts off.
It has been reported that several companies will be conducting test flights, launches, wind-tunnel tests, and rocket technology trials in 2013. Space Exploration Technologies, aka, as SpaceX, has actually flown its unmanned Dragon capsule thrice in to space in 2012. Another flight is planned to take off in May.
RocknRoll Part 2
Last week, Ted RocknRoll, a part-time employee at Virgin Galactic, which is owned by RocknRoll’s uncle, Sir Richard Branson, said that VG could make its maiden voyage this year.
SpaceX’s next cargo flight to the station is set for May 2013. But a new astronaut-carrying version of Dragon is also in the works. The crewed capsule will be different from its robotic predecessor in several key areas, with SpaceX set to advancing technology for the new ship in 2013.
