Very few red diamonds larger than a cart are known to exist, according to a spokesperson from Christie’s, as reported by the Russian Times.

This gem, or rockstar, is the largest reddish-orange diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America. Christie's pre-auction estimated sales price of it is between $700,000 and $1.2 million.

The diamond’s rarity is a fusion of both, its intense color and large size. Highly saturated diamonds in shades of red and orange are considered to be among the rarest of all fancy colored diamonds.
