What goes down certainly has potential to rise again, especially in Hollywood.
Robert Downey Jr., an actor whose career was written off by many Hollywood insiders, including studio execs, is back with a vengeance. An actor dismissed by studios due to his drug use and the inability to obtain insurance on flicks starring the once-troubled performer is now the highest paid actor in Hollywood, according to Forbes.
Robert Downey Jr. can do no wrong in Hollywood these days. Six of the movies Downey starred in have grossed more than $500,000. Two films, The Avengers and Iron Man 3, did even better, grossing more than $1 billion.
The spectacular performance of his flicks at theaters worldwide have earned the actor an estimated $75 million between June 2012 and June 2013, placing him at the top of Hollywood’s Highest Paid Actors list by Forbes.
It’s hard to remember that just a few years ago, Downey was box office poison, and regarded by the studios as damaged goods.
