While there is now a ban for public nudity in the City by the Bay, the new law does not entirely blanket the issue. It does not apply at parades, fairs, and festivals where there are permits in place to bear it all. Fines range from $100 to $500; a three-time violator within the same year could face a one-year jail sentence. At least there was no mention of anyone being fingered for the crime! (Ouch!)
"We're a city that believes in freedom, and we've always believed in freedom and free expression," Wiener told CNN affiliate KGO. "But taking your pants off at Castro and Market and displaying your genitals to everyone, that's not free expression."
