The Rebuilding of New Orleans Trumpets On

There is no telling when the saints will come marching in to New Orleans. However, with a cash infusion of more than $120.5 billion of federal funds available, the construction projects are marching in plentifully. 

New Orleans, Louisiana. The city that Hurricane Katrina decimated 8 years ago is brimming with real estate transactions that are at various levels of development, Businessweek.com reports.  

The Big Easy, the city renowned for its lively atmosphere and festive surroundings is among the busiest areas worldwide with new construction projects underway.

This year through May, commercial real estate transactions in the Big Easy totaled $424.7 million, up 41 percent from the $301.1 million in all of 2012, according to New York-based Real Capital Analytics Inc. New Orleans was the only U.S. market among 55 tracked by the research firm in which sales have surpassed last year’s total.
