When comparing features of smartwatches, it appears that the manufacturers are still trying to determine how to distinguish their product and gain a market for it. It really is too early in the game to determine any clear winners at this point.
With Samsung releasing its Galaxy Gear smartwatch this week, there are two brands of smartwatches available, Samsung’s and Pebble’s, and one more, Sony’s SmartWatch 2, which will be released this month.
This report by the Wall Street Journal offers a comparison of the models. It looks at price, size, weight, features, and operating system of the three models.
So far, the Pebble device is the least expensive at $150. It is nearly half the price of Samsung’s. The Galaxy Gear also is the heaviest model. The Sony SmartWatch 2 is to be released this month, but as of September 6, the model is unavailable.
