Are men ready to begin wearing make-up on a regular basis in public?
Fashion designers Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs think so, as both have launched a line of make-up for men. Ford’s new line is exclusively for men, while Jacobs’ contains unisex products.
Marc Jacobs’ new line debuts at Sephora and at select Marc Jacobs stores in early August. The question surrounding the release of make-up products for men is twofold. Will men wear it, and are they willing to pay upwards of $80 for items such as, concealers, lip balms, and brow gels? Apparently, Ford and Jacobs both feel that that day has arrived.
Men’s grooming blogs like Manface and Skin Care for Men, as well as Birchbox’s recent subdivision into female and male categories, also shows how men are becoming more attuned to the beauty industry.
