The number of millionaires in America is increasing. There is approximately 6.1 million households with liquid or investable assets of at least $1 million, according to a study by the research firm Phoenix Marketing International.
The report is based upon the highest concentration of millionaires compared to the total population of the city.
Additionally, the number of millionaires with a minimum of $5 million liquid is up 7% in a year-over-year analysis. Los Alamos, New Mexico, has the highest concentration of millionaire households. More than 11% or 906 of the city’s 8,184 households are millionaires, Kiplinger reports.
