Twitter unveiled Vine, its short embeddable video service, on Thursday, reports CNET.
Vine is an app for the iPhone and the iPod Touch that enables users to post six-second videos online. The new app, which has been dubbed Twitter’s “Instagram for video,” is a standalone service that is not exclusive to Twitter.
While it was introduced as an app for Apple’s devices, Twitter announced that apps for additional platforms are forthcoming. However, no specific apps or time frame was provided.
