Wine exports from the United States in 2012 set a new record at $1.43 billion, according to information from the Wine Institute, as reported by NBC News.
Ninety percent of U.S. wine exported was from the state of California. The European Union and Canada are the top markets for California wines.
The European Union remained the top market for California wines, accounting for about 34 percent of all sales. But the state's wineries also saw significant growth in Canada and Asia.
