With the support of 50,000 backers, the Veronica Mars film project has received more than $3.3 million in backing since posting this week. Apparently, the former television series, which starred Kirsten Bell as a high-school detective, has a lot of fans that want to see more. The goal was to raise $2 million, which was done in 10 hours.
A report by Forbes on Wednesday conveyed that around $1 million was raised in just four hours after being posted. Rob Thomas, the creator of the show, started the KIckstarter post with the studio’s consent to gauge fan interest in Veronica Mars. The scope of the project could grow, according to Thomas.
“My goal is to include as many of your favorite characters as possible. It is, after all, time for Veronica’s 10-year high school reunion. Keep in mind that the more money we raise, the cooler movie we can make.
