Buford, Wyoming, is the smallest town in America, according to its former owner, mayor, postmaster, owner of all businesses, and sole citizen, according to a recent report by the Los Angeles Times.
The 10-acre plot of land, known by the USPS as 82052, has a new owner, Nguyen Dinh Pham. Mr. Pham, 38, is a businessman with a vision to build an opportunity in America. He purchased the property for $900,000 from Don Sammons, 63, via auction, without ever seeing it or even knowing where Wyoming was without a map.
Pham is launching a new upscale coffee brand called Phin Deli from the location. Drop into the town's truck stop to taste it for yourself.
….At the start [of the auction for the property], he competed with more than a dozen serious bidders. But when the asking price hit $700,000, most dropped out — except for Pham and a Wyoming man who bid over the telephone.
