One of Apple’s first computers made in 1976 recently sold for $668,000 at an auction in Germany, Fox News reports on a story originally from the AP.
The computer is reported to be part of the first batch of 50 computers, which were hand built by Apple’s cofounders Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, which originally sold for $25,000.
Breker, the German auction house that sold the computer, claims that it is one of only six models in the world that is functional. The same auctioneer sold one of those models last year for 492,000 euros.
The Apple 1, which was sold for $666 in 1976, consisted of only the circuit board. A case, a keyboard and a screen had to be bought separately.
