While the firm’s board of directors will appoint its new CEO, current chief Lloyd Blankfein speculates that his replacement will be a company inside per a report today from Reuters.  His comments on Washington averting its “fiscal cliff” and other topics are noteworthy as well.

Addressing other topics, he said a deal in Washington to avert a "fiscal cliff" of steep tax hikes and budget cuts set for the end of the year is most likely to come at the last minute.
