Preparing Images for JustLuxe & LuxeLounge

Image Size: Minimum 1,000 pixels wide; height may vary.

File Types: .jpg, .png, .gif - Note: Images set in CMYK color might not perform as expected.

Number of Images: You can upload up to ten (10) images along with an article. If you have more than that please email us at editorialteam@justluxe.com for assistance. For articles that are chosen to be included on JustLuxe, we may opt to rearrange your photos, or not use them at all in lieu of better ones we may have access to. We purposely limit the use of HTML, so please stick to what the form allows and do not attempt to embed images in the body of your story.

Use Your Head: Never upload images that do not belong on JustLuxe or in the LuxeLounge. Innapropriate images include, but are not limited to, nudity and distasteful images that might be found offensive, as well as photos that are simply irrelevant to the story. Unprofessional photography will not be allowed on the main pages of JustLuxe, this includes, but is not limited to, blurry or low-quality images. Photography that falls into these categories will be deleted, and may result in a warning or deletion of your account.

The Golden Rule: Make sure you have the right to publish! Where did you get the image?

I took the picture (or designed it) myself: Great, as long as you still hold the rights, you can publish the image.

I got the image from a press kit: No problem, images from press kits are meant to accompany editorial coverage.

I took the image from a website: If you took the photo from a US Federal website or know for certain the image is in the public domain, you can publish.

I found the image on Wikipedia: Images found in the Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org) are often times part of the public domain or have been licensed to be used by anyone. Check under the "Licensing" section under the image to be sure. If it does NOT say you are free to copy, distribute and transmit the work, DO NOT PUBLISH.

I found the image in a search engine's results (e.g. Google): More than likely you CANNOT publish. You must go to the site where the image lives to find out for sure. Generally speaking, do not search for images this way, but if you do make sure to use Google's Usage Rights filter. You can find this by clicking "More Tools" and selecting "Labeled for reuse."

I got the image from the official site for the product, service or place I have written about: You MUST have permission from an authorized representative of said site to use the image. If you do not have express permission, you MAY NOT PUBLISH.

Release and Limitations of Liability: In the end, you are responsible for the images that you upload to JustLuxe.com. It is your sole responsibility to follow our guidelines IN ADDITION TO any terms and conditions stated by the owner(s) of the image. You must also adhere to any applicable copyright laws.
