Electric Cessna 172 Begins Taxi Tests

Engine In Development Would Replace 150-200 HP Recip Powerplants Initial taxi tests on an electric Cessna 172 got underway last week at Centennial Airport in Englewood, CO. Beyond Aviation, formerly Bye Energy, said it is working towards developing a practical, cost-effective conversion to an environmentally friendly electric propulsion system as a replacement for internal combustion engines on aircraft requiring 150 to 200 hp.
