See, I?m sitting in the New Village Arts Theatre, row E, seat 15, and this man on the stage is talking, but his delivery is oddly flat, less like an actor trying to hook anyone emotionally than someone thinking out loud. In fact, he?s wearing a business suit, and maybe he just stumbled in from the nearby Coaster stop after commuting from his job downtown as a banker or a bureaucrat. And how come the house lights are on, so when he throws out questions to the audience, we?re not anonymous shapes in the dark?
