Russian creative think tank and agent of change, Strelka Institute at the Architecture Biennale in Venice

Russian creative think tank and agent of change, Strelka Institute, is hosting a series of discussions with interesting voices in architecture and urban design in the pre-opening days of the 13th International Architecture Biennale in Venice. The events will take place on 27 and 28 August at Strelka Palazzo, the temporary branch of the institute in Venice. Inspired by the Biennale?s theme of Common Ground, the conversations will focus on how architecture and design can drive the physical, social and economic regeneration of urban environments. Using Russian cities as a starting point, the talks will explore wider issues in urban design around global metropoles. On of the events has the theme Urban Editing in Russia and Brazil. Taking place at Monday August 27 at 3pm. Specialists in architecture and urban design from Russia, Italy and Brazil, will come together to discuss how we can re-think the purpose of microrayons and favelas, and aid their regeneration in a time of global economic and environmental crisis.
