Jeff Stratton to Succeed Jan Fields as McDonald's USA President

McDonald's, the world's largest restaurant company by sales, said Jeff Stratton will succeed Jan Fields as president of McDonald's USA.

Mr. Stratton, 57, who is global chief restaurant officer, will take over for Ms. Fields effective Dec. 1, the Oak Brook, Illinois- based company said today in a statement. Ms. Fields, 57, is leaving after more than 35 years at McDonald's.

McDonald's, led by CEO Don Thompson since July, has recently struggled to attract U.S. diners as competitors increase promotions and introduce new menu items. Same-store sales in October declined 1.8% globally, the first monthly worldwide drop in nine years, the company said earlier this month.
